We collect only the information we need to shop for you, deliver your order and keep your account secure:

• Account and contact details — your name, phone number, email address and password when you create an account.
• Delivery address and location — the addresses you save and, with your permission, your device location so we can find you and match you to the nearest coverage zone.
• Order history — the items you order, your substitution choices, delivery notes, ratings, and the stores and restaurants you buy from.
• Payment information — when you pay by card, InstaPay or a digital wallet, the payment is processed by our licensed payment providers. We do not store your full card number; we keep only limited details such as the payment type and the last digits for your receipts.
• Device and usage data — device model, operating system, app version, language and how you interact with the app, collected to keep the service reliable and secure.
• Communications — the messages you exchange with our support team, shoppers and drivers through the app.

2. How we use your information

We use your information to:

• Create and manage your account and verify your identity.
• Receive, shop for, deliver and track your orders, including live updates and substitution requests.
• Process payments, wallet top-ups, refunds and cashback.
• Provide customer support and respond to your questions and complaints.
• Send you order updates and receipts and, where you have opted in, offers and promotions.
• Improve our app, prevent fraud, and keep the service safe and reliable.
• Meet our legal and regulatory obligations.

3. How we share your information

We never sell your personal information. We share it only with the parties who help us run the service, and only to the extent needed:

• Shoppers and delivery drivers — your first name, delivery address, phone number and order details so they can shop for and deliver your order.
• Partner stores and restaurants — the details needed to prepare and fulfil your order.
• Payment processors — the licensed payment partners who handle card, InstaPay and wallet transactions.
• Service providers — trusted companies that provide hosting, maps, notifications, analytics and support tools under confidentiality obligations.
• Legal and safety — authorities or advisors where required by Egyptian law, or to protect the rights, safety and property of Qareeb, our users and the public.

4. Data retention

We keep your personal information for as long as your account is active, and afterwards only for as long as we need it to meet legal, tax, accounting and dispute-resolution requirements. When we no longer need it, we delete or anonymise it.

5. Data security

We protect your information with technical and organisational measures such as encryption in transit, access controls and secure infrastructure. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work continuously to safeguard your data and to limit access to the staff who need it.

6. Your rights and choices

You have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you.
• Correct information that is inaccurate or out of date — you can update most details directly in the app.
• Delete your account and request erasure of your personal information, subject to records we are required to keep by law.
• Withdraw consent for marketing at any time, and control location and notification permissions from your device settings.

7. Children's privacy

Qareeb is not directed at children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Your continued use of Qareeb after an update means you accept the revised policy.
